With most databases, you have to choose: let agents write and risk bad data, or block writes and limit agents to just reading data.
What Dolt Does Differently#
In Dolt, every agent gets its own branch. Writes are isolated until you review and merge them. Live data only changes when you approve it.
When something goes wrong, you can review the diff and roll back just the changes you don’t want, without guesswork or data loss.
Why This Matters for Agentic Systems#
- Multiple agents can write simultaneously surfacing conflicts.
- Every change is auditable by default.
- Bad writes are reviewable before they matter.
- Rolling back is surgical, not destructive.
